Ilustrissimo Prefeito João Henrique,

Vimos pela presente comunicar-lhe que a nossa instituição ICBIE Europa está se empenhando para a construção do CINEMA-TEATRO da RIBEIRA na Rua Julio David 57, tendo como base fundamental de seus objetivos servir a toda a comunidade da Cidade Baixa, a qual não dispõe de serviços estruturais voltados para área cultural, artística e da leitura em forma continua.

Nós acreditamos que a falta de entretenimento cultural, de estímulo à leitura, de apoio à cultura em geral é uma porta para alimentar a inconsciência e as mazelas sociais. A população residente na Cidade Baixa, local de nosso foco de ações, que possui quase 160.000 habitantes, é uma área ocupada por diversos bairros, completamente carentes de espaços alternativos para seu desenvolvimento cultural, (cinemas, teatros, auditórios e bibliotecas).

A comunidade local, naturalmente tem demonstrado interesse em melhorar este quadro e têm se movido com as próprias associações federadas sob a SIGLA CAMMPI (que inclusive está trabalhando em colaboração com a CONDER pela construção do CINE-TEATRO dos ALAGADOS), mas os esforços não chegam ainda a satisfazer a demanda. Existe um verdadeiro muro de Berlim entre a qualidade e a quantidade da oferta cultural a partir do Pelourinho até Rio Vermelho, Pituba e a Cidade Baixa.

Sabemos que V.S. conhece bem todos esses problemas, e por isto gostaríamos de colocar à disposição da comunidade da Cidade Baixa e de toda Salvador a estrutura do – ICBIE – EUROPA, juntamente com a BIBLIOTECA LEONARDO DA VINCI e seu espaço destinado à construção do CINEMA TEATRO que com sua equipe poderá garantir uma programação contínua autosustentavel, porque sabemos que a cultura desenvolve a consciência humanizada e a formação da cidadania, geração de empregos e a melhoria da qualidade de vida.
A iniciativa para a construção do CINEMA TEATRO DA RIBEIRA já começou com o projeto arquitetonico e com o inicio das coletas que estão sendo feitas pelo ICBIE na Europa e nos EUA e que hoje já chegaram ao valor de R$18.000,00 sobre um orçamento inicial previsto para R$ 250.000,00, destinados à construção sem equipamentos, aparelhos e mobílias internas. O espaço de35mtx12mt, hoje sem cobertura em parte já está sendo utilizado para projeção de filmes, para lições de Hapkido (defesa pessoal), dança, capoeira, oficina de teatro e poesia.

NOSSO PEDIDO À PREFEITURA É DE PATROCINAR O TEATRO COM UMA CONTRIBUIÇÃO FORNECENDO UM DOS SEGUINTES ITENS:
1. MÃO DE OBRA ESPECIALIZADA EM CONSTRUÇÃO;
2. MATERIAIS DE CONSTRUÇÃO;
3. EQUIPAMENTOS E APARELHAGENS PARA CINEMA TEATRO;
4. CONTRIBUIÇÃO COM VERBAS DIRETAS OU INDIRETAS (ATRAVÉS DE CONVÊNIOS COM EMPRESAS OU BANCOS)

No caso da participação da prefeitura a nomearíamos PATROCINADOR e colocaríamos a sua logomarca junto a nossa e em todos os materiais de divulgação dos eventos organizados pelo ICBIE no CINEMA-TEATRO e poderia também utilizar o espaço por uma quota de dias mensais sem despesas de aluguel.

Os apoios e as contribuições para este projeto do CINEMA-TEATRO DA RIBEIRA são numerosos:

Illustrious Mayor João Henrique,
We would like to inform you that our institute, ICBIE Europe, is planning to construct a CINEMA-THEATER in RIBEIRA at Rua Julio David 57, with the primary object of serving the entire community of the Cidade Baixa (the low city of Salvador), which is currently without a permanent area for culture, art or lectures.

We believe that without meaningful entertainment, the stimulus of a lecture, or without a center for general culture, the door is open to increased thoughtlessness and social malaise. The population of the Cidade Baixa, our community, comprising nearly 160,000 inhabitants, is comprised of diverse neighborhoods that are totally lacking in dedicated spaces for cultural activity (cinemas, theaters, auditoriums and libraries).

The local community has shown an interest in improving this situation and has organized its own federal associations, such as SIGLA CAMMPI (which is working in collaboration with CONDER for the construction of the CINE-TEATRO of the ALAGADOS), but their efforts have not managed to satisfy the demand. Dividing the Cidade Baixa from the area stretching from Pelourinho to Rio Vermelho and Pituba, there is a virtual Berlin Wall, with respect to the quantity and quality of cultural offerings.

We know that you are aware of all these problems, and for that reason we would like to offer the structure of the ICBIE-EUROPA, together with the LEONARDO DA VINCI LIBRARY and the space destined for the construction of the CINEMA THEATER, to be at the disposition of the community of the Cidade Baixa and of the entire city of Salvador. With your help we can guarantee a self-sustaining and continuous programming, which is necessary for the formation of our citizens and workers, because we know that culture develops deeper human awareness and fosters a better quality of life.

The initiative for the construction of the RIBEIRA CINEMA THEATER has already begun with an architectural project and with the beginning of a collection that is taking place for the ICBIE in Europe and the United States, and that has currently arrived at a value of R$18,000.00, with a goal of R$250,000.00, for the construction, without equipment, furnishings or furniture. The space, consisting of 35X12 meters, today largely roofless, is already being used for the projection of films, for Hapkido (personal defense) lessons, dances, capoeira shows, theater plays and poetry readings.

OUR PETITION TO THE CITY ASKS FOR PATRONAGE FOR THE THEATER WITH A CONTRIBUTION CONSISTING OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
1. SPECIALIZED CONSTRUCTION WORKERS
2. CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS
3. EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS FOR THE CINEMA THEATER
4. DIRECT OR INDIRECT CONTRIBUTIONS (THROUGH AGREEMENTS WITH CORPORATIONS OR BANKS)

In the event of city participation we will acknowledge your sponsorship, placing the city symbol on all the publicity material for ICBIE activities held in the CINEMA THEATER, and you will also be allowed to use the facilities for a determined number of days per month, free of all fees and expenses.

The supporters and contributors to this project for a RIBEIRA CINEMA THEATER are numerous:
