PICCOLA CIA DE TEATRO-MUSICA DO ICBIE SE APRESENTA EM PLATAFORMA

Neste último domingo, 23 de setembro, a Piccola Cia. de Teatro/Música do ICBIE realizou a primeira apresentação fora do seu espaço mantenedor. Foi um encontro de teatro no Centro Cultural Teatro Plataforma.  A peça “Proibido Ler - Viagem em Uma Folha de Papel”, foi criada e dirigida pela nossa Francesca Tagliafierro; em julho, período no qual passou com a família na Bahia, no ICBIE, nos presenteando com esse belo trabalho.

O espetáculo levado ao Teatro Plataforma nesse domingo foi uma revisão do “Proibido Ler” de Francesca, feita pelo nosso Diretor Artístico do ICBIE, Pietro Gallina, acrescentando novas cenas e fazendo menção a grandes Clássico da literatura nacional e internacional, como Romeu e Julieta, A Divina Comédia, Fausto, O Caçador de Pipas, Os Sertões etc. Além de trazer informações sobre o índice de leitura no Brasil, contou histórias de períodos nos quais os livros eram tratados como objeto de proibição sendo sempre queimados, a exemplo do Egito Antigo, Santa Inquisição e Nazismo.

Apesar de todos os problemas técnicos, artísticos, casuais e de coordenação  ocorridos, conseguimos honrar com o compromisso proposto, realizando uma bela apresentação para todo o público presente.

No mesmo domingo, o grupo César Borges, abriu o encontro de teatro, precedendo a nossa apresentação, trazendo o tema da “Gravidez na Adolescência”.

A Piccola Cia. segue sua agenda com vários outros espetáculo agendados. O próximo será no dia 25 de outubro no Espaço Cultural Alagados no ambito da 4ª Mostra de Arte e Cultura de Itapagipe.

Last Sunday, October 23rd, the Little Theater/Music Company of the ICBIE put on its first show away from its home space.  The occasion was a theater encounter at the Theater of the Plataforma Cultural Center.  The work presented was “No Reading Allowed — Journey in a Piece of Paper,” which was created and directed by our Francesca Tagliafierro in July, when she came with her family to Bahia, staying at the  ICBIE, to present this beautiful work.

The show that we put on at the Plataforma Theater last Sunday was a revision of Francesca’s “No Reading Allowed” made by our Artistic Director of the ICBIE, Pietro Gallina, adding new scenes and inserting references to great Classic literary figures, national and international, such as Romeo and Juliet, the Divine Comedy, Faust, the Kite Runner and Rebellion in the Backlands (Os Sertões, by the Brazilian author Euclides da Cunha), among others.  Besides giving information regarding Brazil’s aptitudes for reading, there were little stories about the times when books were treated as dangerous objects to be prohibited or burned, for example in ancient Egypt, during the Holy Inquisition or under Nazism.

Despite all the technical and artistic challenges and difficulties in coordination, we managed to honor our commitment, putting on a fine show for all the people who attended.

On the same Sunday, the César Borges group opened the theater encounter, preceding our show with a work based upon the theme of “Teenage Pregnancy.”

The Little Company will continue its activity with various other performances in the future.  The next appearance will be on the 25th of October at the Alagados Cultural Space, as part of the Fourth Exposition of Art and Culture of Itapagipe.

This coming Sunday, the Little Theater/Music Company of the ICBIE will travel across the bay to Plataforma to present Pietro Gallina’s revision of Francesca Tagliafierro’s setting of the play No Reading Allowed, a Walk in a Piece of Paper.  In bocca lupo a tutti!

O filme mostra como Bill Gates e Steve Jobs fundaram as respectivas Microsoft e Apple, e a concorrência entre os dois para ver quem chegava primeiro e as estratégias que utilizaram para criarem suas empresas.

Thanks to Claire, who has just returned to Salvador to start another cycle of ICBIE courses, we can see these impressive photos of Pietro, during his participation at the roundtable discussion, where he was clearly living up to that favorite dictum, “Don’t just do a good job, leave them breathless!”

Abbiamo assistito con entusiasmo alla festa/celebrazione relativa a 6 anni di apertura del progetto cidade de plastico nel locale comunitario della favela diretto da Ana Vaneska. Questa valorosa signora che ha aperto la collaborazione per la costruzione della mensa del popolo da parte dei cuochi svizzeri di Cuisine sans frontière e la (difficile) continuazione come Cooperativa Zeferina, senza più aiuto dell’associazione svizzera. Infatti tale associazione crea, aiuta, insegna, paga salari ai lavoratori della mensa per il primo anno (ne erano passati già tre…) al fine di abituarli a lavorare da soli e organizzandoli per creare come obiettivo finale una cooperativa autonoma. Tali azioni vengono svolte da questa associazione svizzera in vari paesi del terzo mondo. Noi dell’ICBIE siamo impegnati nel sostenerli e nell’alloggiarli nella nostra Piccola Ribeira quando vengono di tanto in tanto a Salvador; e inoltre Marlene è rappresentante ufficiale di Cuisine sans frontière nei rapporti con la nuova Cooperativa Zeferina; così abbiamo partecipato tutti a questa celebrazione-festa di fine agosto come se fosse anche in piccolissima parte un nostro successo. Ci sono stati Julio & Bigod a graffittare i muri della favela insieme ai bambini del luogo; poi è stato proiettato un film; concerto di musica, e balletto.

We enthusiastically participated in the party/celebration marking six years since the opening of the Plastic City Project, held in the favela’s community center directed by Ana Vaneska.  This courageous lady, who initiated the collaboration for the construction of a people’s soup kitchen by the Swiss cooks from Cuisine sans frontière and who conducted the (difficult) continuation as the Cooperativa Zeferina, without further help from the Swiss association.  In fact, that association creates, assists, teaches and pays salaries to the kitchen’s workers for the first year (three had already passed), with the intent of rendering them able to work alone and organizing them with the goal of creating an autonomous cooperative.   The Swiss association carries out this work in various third world countries.  We at the ICBIE have committed ourselves to assist them and to offer them in our Piccola Ribeira hostel when they come to Salvador from time to time; and furthermore, Marlene is the official representative for Cuisine sans frontière in their rapport with the new Cooperativa Zeferina; in that way we have all participated in this end of August party/celebration, as if it were in some small way our success, too.  Julio & Bigod were there to paint the walls of the favela, assisted by the local kids; then there was the showing of a film, a concert and a ballet.

Oggi 4 settembre, e domani, 5 settembre, Marcella e Pietro parteciperanno al Simpósio Internacional “A Bahia e as suas Representações Culturais Estrangeiras: Politicas de Cultura entre o Global e o Local”.

È un incontro organizzato, appunto, dalle associazioni culturali europee (Germania, Spagna, Italia e Francia), dalla facoltá di comunicazione dell´UFBA (FACOM) e dalla segreteria di Cultura dello Stato di Bahia, per parlare delle relazioni tra le associazioni e il governo locale in materia, soprattutto, di diplomazia culturale.

Ci aspettiamo che sia un incontro interessante e ricco di spunti di riflessione per migliorare la possibilitá e le opportunitá di dialogo tra Europa e Bahia.

Today, September 4th and tomorrow, September 5th, Marcella and Pietro will participate in the Symposium “Bahia and her Foreign Cultural Representatives: Politics of Culture Between the Global and the Local.”

It is an encounter organized by the European cultural associations (from Germany, Spain, Italy and France), by the communications faculty of the UFBA (FACOM) and by the local government, to address the relations between the associations and the local government regarding, above all, cultural diplomacy.

We expect the conference to be interesting and full of points for reflexion, to improve the possibilities and the opportunities for dialogue between Europe and Bahia.
